Business cards are printed in all shapes and sizes. You can print your details onto one or both sides. Some printers charge extra for printing onto both sides.
What size should I choose for my business card?
The most popular sizes for business card printing are 8.5cm x 5.5cm or 9cm x 5cm. These sizes fit easily into wallets and business card cases.
What business card paper thickness should I choose?
Business card paper thickness is rated by (gsm) grams per square metre. It's not recommended to print a business card on less then 250gsm paper - somewhere between 300 to 400 gsm is recommended.
Business card print finishing
You can choose different types of finishing for your business card printing, from Matt or Gloss laminate or a non-coated finish. Ask your printer to send you some samples if you're unfamiliar with the different types of business card print finishing.
Other options to consider for business card printing.
To make you're business card stand out you could choose to round the corners or just one corner, or add some foil printing.
Folded Business Card Printing
Folded business cards are perfect if you need to display more information than just your contact details. You may wish to list your products, services or display some images. Typically a folded business card has 4 pages - the front and back side, and (when opened) a left and right inside page.
How to save money on printing multiple sets of business cards
If you need to print business cards for several people in your organization, rather than printing each set separately many printers offer the option to print multiple sets of business cards at a much reduced cost. If this option is not available place your different business card designs onto a larger paper sheet size and ask the printer to cut out the individual cards, eg: four sets of business cards can easily fit onto an A5 sheet.
